Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has admitted that he was "obviously disappointed" over being benched for fit-again starter Josh McCown.
The 22-year-old led the Browns to a 28-14 win against the Tennessee Titans, but coach Mike Pettine decided to reinstate McCown despite Manziel's display.
The Heismann trophy winner told reporters: "Obviously I am not going to sit here and say that I love the decision, but I respect coach Pett (Mike Pettine), and that is the guy that makes the calls for this team."
"I am going to be a team player and do what I need to do from here on out and be ready if my number is called.
"I felt like I went out and did some good things. I bridged the gap and that's what we needed. Our team needed a win, and I was the next guy up. We got the win."
Manziel was drafted with the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and has started three games so far in his career.
