Spurs transfer news: Forward being lined up as Omar Marmoush replacement at Eintracht Frankfurt?

:Headline: Spurs transfer news: Forward being lined up as Omar Marmoush replacement at Eintracht Frankfurt?:
Eintracht Frankfurt are allegedly lining up a struggling Tottenham Hotspur attacker as a potential replacement for Omar Marmoush.

Eintracht Frankfurt have reportedly identified a Tottenham Hotspur attacker as a potential January signing.

Despite suffering back-to-back defeats, Frankfurt currently sit in third position in the Bundesliga table, strongly aided by the contributions of Omar Marmoush.

However, 13 goals and seven assists from just 15 appearances have led to the Egypt international being in line to join Manchester City if a fee can be agreed between the two clubs.

Should Frankfurt generate a lucrative fee for the 25-year-old, they will immediately enter the transfer market to find a suitable replacement.

According to Football Insider, a struggling Spurs attacker has been placed on their shortlist of possible targets.

Werner to return to Bundesliga?

The report alleges that Frankfurt may attempt to negotiate the signing of Timo Werner, who is currently on loan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from RB Leipzig.

Just one goal and three assists have come from nine starts and 16 substitute outings, with the 28-year-old clearly not a favoured choice for Ange Postecoglou.

Although Spurs possess the option to sign the Germany international on a permanent deal at the end of the season, is seems more unlikely than likely at this stage.

Furthermore, the North Londoners may be open to cutting short his temporary spell in England's capital if required to by Leipzig.

With just 18 months remaining on his contract with his parent club, Werner could be open-minded to securing a permanent switch to another Bundesliga club if the opportunity arises.

During his career, a total of 102 goals and 46 assists have been contributed in 257 appearances in Germany's top flight.

Blessing in disguise for Spurs?

Postecoglou has previously delivered a scathing attack on one of Werner's recent performances after he was ineffective in a Europa League fixture against Rangers.

Since then, he has accumulated just 136 minutes of football across six outings, emphasising he remains a bit-part player.

As well as Miley Moore being ready to return to action, Spurs are in the market for fresh faces for the final third, including Paris Saint-Germain's Randal Kolo Muani.

If a deal can be agreed for the France international, a scenario could arise where Spurs give the green light to an early exit for Werner.
