Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones insists that he is still committed to head coach Jason Garrett despite seeing his side miss out on the playoffs for a fourth year in a row.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has insisted that he is still fully behind head coach Jason Garrett despite seeing his side suffer more playoff heartbreak this season.

The Cowboys were narrowly beaten by the Philadelphia Eagles last night in a winner-takes-all encounter that saw Garrett's side miss out on the NFL playoffs on the final day of the season for a third year in a row.

It is now four years overall since Dallas were in the playoffs - the longest drought of Jones's 25 years at the club - but the 71-year-old insists that nothing has changed since a month ago, when he said that he was committed to Garrett.

"I said that a month ago. I stand by what I said a month ago. I'm not discussing that at all. I have spoken a little more appropriate time here about three or four weeks ago," Jones told reporters.

"I said at that time that I was with Jason, that I thought that his future and what he's going to be doing with us was good. But this isn't the time and I don't even like the way it feels or looks to speak to anything about our coaches."

The Cowboys are 29-27 under Garrett, who took charge of the team midway through the 2010 season.
