Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Amobi Okoye has told of his delight at being back in the NFL following his absence caused by a rare autoimmune disorder.
The player was put into a medically-induced coma in April last year, as his contraction of anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis led to an 145-day memory gap.
"It's a blessing every day," Okoye told the Dallas Morning News.
"You count your blessings. Your faith gets tested. I am happy to be back doing what I love to do."
Okoye will be hoping to return from the non-football illness list soon, having been given a chance by Dallas who signed him to a two-year contract in May.
