Champ Bailey: 'Peyton Manning will retire when it's time'

Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey reveals that Peyton Manning has shown no indication that he is ready to retire just yet.

Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey has revealed that Peyton Manning has not given any indication that he is thinking of retiring at the end of the current campaign.

Manning will aim to end a record-breaking year with the second Super Bowl ring of his career on Sunday as the Broncos take on the Seattle Seahawks at New York's MetLife Stadium.

There has been plenty of speculation over when the 37-year-old will call it a day having undergone major neck surgery two seasons ago, but Bailey insists that he does not care if he is on the verge of retirement in the build-up to the Super Bowl.

"He doesn't talk about that kind of stuff. Whether it's his last [game] or his first of many more, I don't really care right now. All I'm worried about is this week," Bailey told reporters.

"I never got any indication he was talking about retiring. You would think after a season like this he'd play 10 more years. But we all know that's not going to happen. I'm sure he'll hang 'em up when it's time."

Manning threw for NFL single-season records of 5,477 passing yards and 55 touchdowns this season, helping the Broncos to another league record of 606 points.
