Denver Broncos head coach John Fox has insisted that the competition to be his side's starting running back isn't over despite Montee Ball's extended reps with the first string.
The Broncos cut last year's starter Willis McGahee earlier this summer leaving Ball, Ronnie Hillman and Knowshon Moreno to fight it out for a place alongside Peyton Manning in the backfield.
"It's just practice, I wouldn't read too much into anything," Fox told The Denver Post.
"We're evaluating everybody regardless of who gets what reps at what number. So, he's a guy that we want to get some touches and we'll go from there."
Denver open their regular season next week against the reigning Super Bowl champions the Baltimore Ravens.
