Denver Broncos offensive lineman Chris Kuper has announced that he has retired from the NFL after eight seasons in the league.
The 31-year-old found his playing time limited in the past two seasons after dislocating his ankle at the end of the 2011 campaign, and he has admitted that he found life tough after his injury.
"The season kind of furthered my idea that this would probably be the end for me," Kuper told the Denver Post. "I didn't feel good all season.
"I did my best when I was out there. I just wasn't the same player. And I think that's a big part of my decision, not being the same player."
Kuper was selected in the fifth round of the 2006 Draft by the Broncos.
