Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning: "We're a work in progress"

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is adamant that his side are still working to blend their offense together following his struggles in the season opener.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has branded his side's offense a "work in progress" following their opening-day win over the Baltimore Ravens.

The Broncos failed to score an offensive touchdown in their 19-13 win over the Ravens as they were grateful for an interception return for a score by Aqib Talib to secure the victory at Sports Authority Field.

Manning has faced doubts over his ability to throw the ball deep following his side's exit from the playoffs last season, and those doubts resurfaced in their win on Sunday.

He told reporters: "Everybody is looking for these summaries of our offense and our team after week one and I just don't think we're going to be able to do that.

"It's week one. We're a work in progress. If you need a catchy headline for your little article or whatever it is you might be doing, we're trying to get better every single week.

"What's another cliche I can think of? We're chipping away. Something along those lines."

Manning completed 24 of his 40 passes for 175 yards, but saw one of his passes intercepted and returned for a touchdown by Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith.
