The Denver Broncos are reportedly confident that wide receiver Wes Welker will be cleared to play in the 2014 season opener.
Welker sustained a concussion in his side's third pre-season game against the Houston Texans, his third in 10 games, leading to fears over his career in the game.
However, the Broncos believe that the 33-year-old will be cleared to practise later this week and be ready for their season opener on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, reports ESPN.
Welker recorded 73 receptions for 778 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
