Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker has been ruled out of Thursday's match against the San Diego Chargers with concussion.
Welker was forced off the field just before half time of the Broncos' 51-28 win over Tennessee Titans yesterday, having been hit in the head by safety Bernard Pollard when stooping low for a catch.
The 32-year-old did not return to the game and will now be subject to the NFL concussion protocol, which rules him out of full practice until Friday at the earliest.
Welker, who is second in the team for both catches and touchdowns this season, had five receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown when he left the field to be replaced by tight end Jacob Tamme.
It is the second time in the last four games that Welker has suffered concussion, having also been forced off against the Kansas City Chiefs on November 17.
