Denver Broncos executive John Elway insists that his side's goals have not changed despite their heavy defeat to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

Denver Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway has insisted that his team's ambitions have not changed as a result of Sunday's Super Bowl defeat.

The Broncos reached the showpiece event of the NFL for the first time since 1998 this season, but the match was a disappointing one for them as the Seattle Seahawks dominated to win 43-8.

However, Elway insists that they will use the experience as a positive factor in their renewed attempts to reach the Super Bowl again next season.

"The goal has not changed and it will not change," Elway told The AP.

"We will use this as an experience that we went through, be disappointed that we didn't play better, but the bottom line is this organization and what [team owner] Pat Bowlen wants from this organization - that has not changed and it will not change.

"The bottom line is we're going to work as hard as we worked this year, if not harder, and continue to do that with the mindset that we want to be world champions and we're going to do everything we can to get there."

Elway also insisted that he was "proud" of his team's season as a whole despite the disappointing finale.
