Calvin Johnson has said that the Detroit Lions must be ready to take advantage of their opportunities.
The wide receiver was restricted to 37 receiving yards in the opening game of the season, but had 116 yards and two touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals last week.
The 27-year-old told the team's website: "We will have some opportunities. We will see some stuff, they're going to blitz, and we have to take what he gives us. When they blitz us we have to be able to counter that.
"Your opportunity will come, whether it be a short ball and you have to run it and if you're getting impatient and worrying about that you're going to miss your next opportunity.
"You have to be ready for that one chance you get because there isn't going to be a lot. So when you do get it you have to take advantage of it."
The Lions travel to the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
