Detroit Lions defensive tackle CJ Mosley has called on players to give Ndamukong Suh the respect he deserves.
Suh has asked to be referred to using his full name instead of making calls to go under a nickname, as most other players tend to do in the league, but he recently became the subject of a jibe when Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton reportedly labelled him 'Donkey Kong Suh'.
"A man like [Suh] demands respect. He's going to get the last name, he's going to get the salute, so nobody has a nickname for him," Mosley told reporters.
"If he comes in here and says, 'I want my nickname to be this,' I'm pretty sure everybody's going to call him it.
"Maybe he wants to have a closer conversation -- an in-depth conversation -- in the game with him. I don't know why he would do that. That's not a nickname. A nickname is cool. That's just terrible."
Suh will get the chance to make himself heard on Sunday evening when the Lions take on the Panthers.
