The Detroit Lions have reportedly turned to former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak in their search for a successor to Jim Schwartz.
Munchak was fired by the Titans on Saturday following a 7-9 record this season, ending a 31-year affiliation between the player-turned-coach and the franchise.
The 53-year-old is scheduled to have an interview for the Lions job on Friday, according to ESPN, with his former offensive coordinator at the Titans, Dowell Loggains, expected to join him.
Despite the reports, San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt is still the frontrunner for the job, although the Lions will not be able to pursue him until the Chargers' season is over.
Former Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak has also been interviewed by the Lions as they look to find a replacement for Schwartz, who was fired last week.
