Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jared Abbrederis has confirmed that he has torn his ACL during his side's training camp.

The Packers selected the wideout in the fifth round of the 2014 Draft, but he will now miss his rookie campaign due to the injury.

Abbrederis wrote on Twitter: "I know there has been a lot of talk going around about my injury. The ACL injury was confirmed this morning and is only a small setback.

"It will only make me stronger, and I cannot wait to get back on the field with my team! I truly appreciate all the love and support!"

The 23-year-old recorded 78 receptions for 1,081 yards and seven touchdowns for the Wisconsin Badgers in the 2013 season.
