Mike McCarthy: 'Eddie Lacy, James Starks give Green Bay Packers offense an advantage'

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy says that running back Eddie Lacy and James Starks give the team a nice advantage on offense.

Mike McCarthy has said that having two running backs with different styles is a "nice advantage" for the Green Bay Packers' offense.

Eddie Lacy, who is in his rookie season in the NFL, has been the team's starter since week one, while James Starks has featured in four games, scoring four touchdowns.

The head coach told the NFC North side's website: "Anytime you have two big backs that have two different running styles, it's a nice advantage for your offense.

"Eddie is a big man. I don't think people recognise how good his vision and balance are, and he's always moving forward. James is more of a downhill slasher, and the pace that James brought into the game in Minnesota was uplifting for us.

"It's important to run the football, and when you have two big men running and falling forward, it definitely adds to your production."

The pair have 689 rushing yards between them so far this season.
