Green Bay Packers score 16 points in the fourth quarter to claim a tie against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL.

The struggling Minnesota Vikings threw away a fourth-quarter lead as Green Bay Packers claimed an unlikely tie at Lambeau Field.

The game did not start well for Green Bay quarterback Scott Tolzien, who was sacked at the very first time of asking to lose seven yards.

They only recovered one of the yards and were forced into an early punt deep in their own half, which gave the Vikings good field position for their drive.

Christian Ponder did not have much more joy to begin with, as he threw for a loss of five before being sacked himself for another eight-yard deficit.

After a drive of more than five minutes, Tolzien took things into his own hands and scrambled over the line for a six-yard touchdown, with the extra kicked by Mason Crosby.

On the Vikings' next drive, they had to settle for a field goal from Blair Walsh, which kept them four points behind their hosts.

However, in the second quarter a field goal and a late touchdown from Adrian Peterson with a minute of the half left put his side six up at the break.

Apart from Peterson making eight yards with a run through the middle, the Vikings were forced to punt from their first drive of the third quarter.

The Packers were unsuccessful again, but with the ball on his next drive Ponder started to make inroads. A couple of 15-plus yard throws moved the Vikings upfield and the QB then found Rhett Ellison short on the right for the touchdown that had them comfortable.

Walsh added a quick field goal at the start of the fourth, which left the Packers with a huge task to get themselves back into the game.

They responded well with a patient drive in an important possession and worked their way to within three yards of the line as Eddie Lacy got through the middle for a well-worked score, but the two-point attempt was unsuccessful.

The Packers got possession with nine minutes to play and another well-worked drive brought success, as Matt Flynn found Jarrett Boykin for a touchdown that moved the Packers three behind before a quick drive ended with a 27-yard field goal to draw overtime.

In overtime it was up to the kickers, as neither defence wanted to give anything away, with Crosby scoring from 20 and then Walsh levelling it up once more from 35 yards, but there was to be no winner as the game ended in a tie.
