Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak has admitted that the competition between quarterbacks Case Keenum and TJ Yates has made them both better players.
Kubiak said that he is still undecided on who to play and for how long in Sunday's pre-season clash with the New Orleans Saints, but will make a decision on Friday.
"I'm going to keep pushing both of them to the end with this thing," the Houston Chronicle quotes Kubiak as saying. "They both will play a great deal against Dallas, obviously. We're going to take this thing all the way until the end.
"I think it's extremely close. They've both played well and I think it's important for us, as a team, to push them to the end and just see how it goes throughout the course of the pre-season.
"A young player has responded to becoming a better player and a veteran responded to the pressure of somebody pushing him. That's what putting together a team is all about. It's [about] making us all better."
Kubiak has been Texans head coach since 2006.
