The Houston Texans have secured a place in the post-season playoffs with victory over the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans struggled to contain the Texans, who scored three touchdowns in the opening half.

Two touchdown passes from Matt Schaub and a rushing effort from Arian Foster saw Houston 21-3 up at half-time.

Jake Locker was sacked six times as the Titans rarely looked like scoring.

The home side scored a consolation touchdown in the third quarter before a scoreless fourth secured the Texans' 11th win of the season.

The victory means that the Texans are assured of at least a wildcard berth.
