Former NFL executive Bill Polian has claimed that the Indianapolis Colts are one of the best teams in the league heading into the 2015 season.
The Colts reached the AFC championship game in the 2014 season, but were hammered by the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
However, Chuck Pagano's men bolstered their offense with the signings of Andre Johnson and Frank Gore, and Polian believes that the addition of the duo, along with the return from injury of Robert Mathis, makes the AFC South side one of the best in the NFL.
He told ESPN: "They're battle-tested guys who really have terrific character. To have a relationship with [coach] Chuck Pagano, Andre and Frank Gore, they're the type of people that everybody else on the team can rally around.
"They haven't had guys like that, I think, and especially didn't last year without Robert Mathis. Those are terrific additions, but they're obviously not long-term additions.
"The question is: Even if they can reach the heights this year, which they're certainly capable of doing if they play good defense, how do you sustain it? But this year, they're as good as anybody, that's for sure."
The Colts last won the Super Bowl in the 2006 season.
