The Indianapolis Colts have produced a 41-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans in the NFL, courtesy of some fine throwing from quarterback Andrew Luck, whose arm picked out four different scorers at the Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts were the first side to draw blood as Trent Richardson made things look easy with a one-yard rush to notch six points, leaving Adam Vinatieri to add the extra.
Indianapolis extended their lead just before the end of the first quarter when Dwayne Allen marched into the endzone to complete a seven-yard pass from an enterprising Andrew Luck, while Vinatieri did what was required to double the score to 14-0.
The Colts continued to cement their lead in the second period of the encounter, thanks to a field goal from Vinatieri as he shovelled his kick home from 31 yards out, before the Titans made sure that they didn't go into the break empty-handed when Ryan Succop converted a field goal from 36 yards.
Succop's effort was to be cancelled out however, as Vinatieri converted his own effort from 30 yards out, but the Titans did manage to secure a way back into the game just before the whistle as Delanie Walker combined with Charlie Whitehurst to steal a last-gasp touchdown.
The Colts saw the lead increased shortly after half time, with Reggie Wayne notching a touchdown after he received a 28-yard pass from Luck, pushing the scores to 27-10.
The third was to prove a profitable period for Indianapolis as they extended their lead to 34-10 as Luck sent a two-yard ball to Coby Fleener.
Despite the Titans eventually ending up second best, the visitors did try to force a tense final period through Bishop Sankey's short run, but Ahmad Bradshaw saw his side home when he caught Luck's pass to settle things at 41-17.
