Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis has been ruled out for up to eight weeks of the season with an ankle injury.
The 30-year-old sustained a high-ankle sprain in the Jaguars' defeat to the Washington Redskins on the first play of the second half.
Lewis could now miss two months of the campaign, and head coach Gus Bradley has revealed that the club could use the short-term injured reserve designation on the tight end to save a roster spot.
Bradley told reporters: "It could be a discussion with the designated to return."
The Jaguars are 0-2 in their campaign after the first two weeks of the season.
