Maurice Jones-Drew has said that he wants to play against the Seattle Seahawks this weekend, despite sustaining an ankle injury during the Jacksonville Jaguars' last game.
The running back was diagnosed with a strained ankle tendon following the loss to the Oakland Raiders last Sunday, only returning to practice yesterday.
The 28-year-old told reporters: "It's nothing you can't play through. Coach wants me to be as close to 100% as possible. We'll see how things go.
"My foot got stuck, but we got treatment three or four times a day. Today, it was OK, so we'll see how it goes and how it responds. If I play, I'm playing."
Head coach Gus Bradley added: "He really wants to play on Sunday, so we'll be smart with him. I think what we do like is the progress he's made from the last two days to today. We figure another day, and then Sunday we will work him out and see how it goes."
Jones-Drew has recorded 72 rushing yards from 25 carries in the first two games of the season.
