Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly been informed of Newcastle United's asking price for Alexander Isak.
Following the November international break, the 25-year-old will be back in action for the Magpies once again as they welcome West Ham United to the North-East in the Premier League on Monday night.
Isak has made a productive start to the 2024-25 league term under the stewardship of Eddie Howe, scoring four goals and providing two assists across nine league matches.
The striker has also performed admirably on the international stage, helping Sweden to secure promotion to UEFA Nations League B with wins over Slovakia and Azerbaijan this month.
Since making the high-profile switch from Real Sociedad to Newcastle during the summer window of 2022, Isak has featured on 78 occasions for the club, scoring 40 times.
Arsenal, Chelsea learn hefty Isak asking price?
According to TEAMtalk, Newcastle are set to making luring star striker Isak away from St James' Park a mammoth task for potential suitors in the near future.
The report claims that the Magpies are not actively looking to offload the 25-year-old, who is a key part of Howe's plans at the North-East giants.
However, it is understood that Newcastle would begin to entertain offers starting from £115m for Isak, with the club wanting to earn enough from a sale to buy a suitable replacement.
It is believed that fellow Swedish marksman Viktor Gyokeres is on the radar of the Magpies following his sensational time at Sporting Lisbon to date.
Arsenal and Chelsea are supposedly in the hunt for Isak, with Enzo Maresca's Blues recently enquiring about the services of the 50-time international.
Could Newcastle cope without Isak?
With only five different players scoring for Newcastle in the Premier League so far this season, the loss of Isak would be a major blow to the team's attacking threat.
Callum Wilson has often battled for the first-choice spot up front with the Swede in recent campaigns, however the former Bournemouth star has not featured this term due to a back injury.
As a result, the departure of Isak without a replacement would be extremely detrimental to Howe's side, who are looking to regularly qualify for the Champions League.
Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon would be a sensational purchase for Newcastle, although it has to be said that the 26-year-old will surely have bigger clubs after his signature in the summer. body check tags ::
