Kansas City Chiefs' Dee Ford determined to make bigger impact

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford reveals that he is desperate to become a key component of the club's defense in the 2015 campaign.

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford has admitted that he is determined to make a bigger impact for the club in his second season in the NFL.

The Chiefs selected the 24-year-old in the first round of the 2014 Draft, but he saw his opportunities limited in the AFC West side's defense due to the displays of Tamba Hali and Justin Houston.

However, Ford is adamant that he is going to work extremely hard over the course of the off-season to earn a starting berth for the 2015 campaign.

"I'm a perfectionist, so I walked away [from last season] ready to get to work," Ford told the Kansas City Star. "I feel like I felt a lot of plays on the field. I was excited to get to work.

"I looked at some key things I know I need to work on, and it all goes back to technicalities, fundamentals, more so play recognition, knowing what to expect, situational things.

"Work makes you confident. When I'm on the field I'm very arrogant and feel like I'm the best at what I do. We're all going to compete and we're all going to bring things to the table to make each other better. I just know at the end of the day we're going to get what we earn, [and] I've put in a lot of work."

Ford recorded eight tackles and 1.5 sacks for the Chiefs in the 2014 season.
