The Miami Dolphins have confirmed the decision to part company with defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle following the team's poor start to the season.
Head coach Joe Philbin was fired this week after losing three of their opening four games, and the franchise has continued to freshen up the coaching staff by replacing Coyle with Lou Anarumo, who previously served as defensive backs coach.
"I've been working toward this," Anarumo told reporters after it was confirmed that he would be promoted to assist interim head coach Dan Campbell.
"As an assistant coach, you're always looking to advance. You set goals for yourself, and this is certainly one of them."
The Dolphins will look to bounce back from three successive losses when they visit the Tennessee Titans after their bye week next Sunday.
