Joe Philbin has said that Ryan Tannehill has to work on his awareness following the Miami Dolphins' first defeat of the 2013 season.
The quarterback was sacked four times, threw three interceptions and fumbled the ball during the team's 38-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints earlier this week.
The head coach told reporters: "His awareness in the pocket has to be better at times. He has good awareness, but there's been times in games where he has to do a better job protecting the football.
"There's no doubt about it. That's not acceptable either. It's like the pass defense wasn't putting the ball on the ground. In that situation when we are moving the ball you can't do that.
"We are the only team in the league that has been able to overcome a minus turnover margin in terms of having a winning record. That's not going to fly."
The Dolphins face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
