New Orleans Saints keep their 100% start alive with a 38-17 win over the Miami Dolphins, with Drew Brees throwing four touchdown passes.

Drew Brees has thrown four touchdown passes tonight to help the New Orleans Saints maintain their 100% start to the campaign, recording a comfortable 38-17 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Brees pushed the Saints forward to the line with their very first possession on an 82-yard drive, with Darren Sproles finishing to score thanks to a strong run up the middle.

Miami got on the scoreboard before the first quarter finished as Caleb Sturgis was successful with a 32-yard field goal, but Ryan Tannehill's fumble when play resumed put the visitors back under pressure.

The Saints took full advantage of that mistake to score their second touchdown in some style, with Brees fooling the Dolphins defence with a play-action fake, before finding Jimmy Graham in the endzone with a precise pass.

Tannehill recovered from that mistake to find Marcus Thigpen in a clever play, setting a screen to find the blocker on a 50-yard drive.

Lamar Miller finished things up by driving home from close range, moving the Dolphins to within four points.

Miami looked to build momentum following that positive drive as they gained possession, but another Tannehill error put the visitors in trouble with an interception.

Once again the Dolphins were made to pay for turning the ball over as Brees found Sproles for the second time, catching Nolan Carroll out of position to make sure of his third score just before the interval.

New Orleans then stretched their lead with a quick score early in the third quarter, with Brees using play-action again to find Ben Watson in the corner.

Two minutes later the game was safe as Brees threw long for Graham, exposing a Dolphins defence missing Cameron Wake with a 43-yard touchdown pass, his fourth of the game.

Miami kept fighting and reduced the deficit in the fourth quarter thanks to Tannehill's persistence, but a late fumble from Sproles was not enough to stop the Saints extending their record to a perfect 4-0.
