The Miami Dolphins' playoff hopes have been dealt a major blow this evening as they lost 19-0 to AFC East rivals the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills took the lead in the opening quarter courtesy of a 45-yard field goal from Dan Carpenter.
Fred Jackson got the only touchdown of the match early in the second quarter as he powered over from nine yards out to open up a 10-point gap.
Buffalo edged further in front after a scoreless third quarter when Carpenter slotted the ball between the posts from 21 yards at the start of the fourth.
Another kick, this time from 22 yards, saw the Bills extend their lead to 16 points as Carpenter made it a hat-trick of field goals for the match.
He added a fourth late on to make it 19-0, leaving the Dolphins to rely on the Baltimore Ravens losing their two remaining games to stand any chance of reaching the NFL playoffs.
