Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier announced on Wednesday that Christian Ponder will start at quarterback against the Green Bay Packers this weekend.
The Vikings have alternated between Ponder, Matt Cassell and Josh Freeman on different occasions so far this season, but it seems as if Ponder has the job for now.
Frazier was reported as saying to SportsNetwork.com: "I just believe at this point Christian gives us the best chance to be successful on Sunday.
"There may come a time where it's Josh's turn, but for this ballgame that's the reason I'm starting Christian."
Ponder's record is a woeful 1-6 in his performances for the Vikings this term, and the team currently sit adrift at the bottom of the NFC North with a 2-8 overall record.
