Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has successfully undergone surgery on his adductor muscle, the club have confirmed.
It was announced earlier on Thursday that Peterson would go under the knife in the off-season, but the club have now confirmed that the surgery has been completed by Dr William Meyers.
"Adrian Peterson had surgery today with Dr William Meyers at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia, PA," the club confirmed on their website.
"Dr Meyers was able to successfully repair Adrian's adductor muscle while also doing a compartmental release. Adrian is expected to make a full recovery in approximately six weeks."
The Vikings finished fourth in the NFC North with a 5-10-1 record.
