Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder has revealed that he is contemplating leaving the side having lost his starting spot.
Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier confirmed earlier today that recent acquisition Josh Freeman would start Monday's match against the New York Giants, despite Ponder having recovered from a rib injury.
The game will be the third in a row that the 25-year-old has had to watch from the sidelines, and he admitted that he would give his new back-up role some thought before deciding whether he would welcome a trade.
"I have to figure out what's best for me and everything and for this team. I don't know if that's staying here or going somewhere else," Ponder told reporters.
Ponder, who started the Vikings' first three games of the season, will be the reserve quarterback for Monday's match while Matt Cassel, who has started the last two games, has been relegated to third choice.
