Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman is adamant that the club will not be trading running back Adrian Peterson in the off-season.
Peterson fueled speculation of a possible move by suggesting that he wanted to play in his homestate of Texas earlier in the season, but the Vikings have insisted that their new coaching staff view the 2012 MVP as an integral part of their team.
"Adrian's not going anywhere," Spielman told ProFootballTalk.com. "He have him under contract, he is the face of our franchise, he is a blue-chip player, and we have a new coaching staff coming into place, and you know, [we're] very excited about what's coming ahead for us."
The 28-year-old ran for 1,266 yards in the 2013 season, along with 10 touchdowns.
