The Detroit Lions rally to defeat the Minnesota Vikings in their NFC North clash as Jim Caldwell's side move to the top of the division.

The Detroit Lions wrestled control of the NFC North away from the Green Bay Packers as they came from behind to defeat the Minnesota Vikings.

Both teams struggled to get going in the early stages of the first quarter, but it was the away side who found their offensive rhythm first as Teddy Bridgewater drove his side to the goal line where Asiata powered through the line for the touchdown.

The Vikings extended their lead in the second quarter when Jennings made an incredible catch off his toes on the sideline to keep his team's drive alive. He produced again for the visitors when he collected a pass from Bridgewater and found the endzone.

Bridgewater then committed a huge error when he was intercepted by Glover Quin, which allowed the Lions back into the game as Matt Stafford floated a pass to Golden Tate for a 10-yard score.

Another mistake from Bridgewater allowed the Lions to move within four points as he was picked off by Darius Slay, and Matt Prater was able to kick a field goal as time expired.

In the second half, both defenses played well until the Lions managed to make a breakthrough, bringing themselves within a point as Stafford found Calvin Johnson to set up a 29-yard field goal from Prater.

The Vikings had the chance to put the game beyond the Lions with a drive in the fourth quarter, but they were to leave the red zone with no points as Bridgewater was sacked on third down, and Blair Walsh missed a field goal from close range.

Detroit made the Vikings pay for their missed opportunity as Stafford drove his team within field goal range, although he missed his chance to find the endzone with a throw to Tate. Prater held his nerve to kick his side into the lead with a 33-yard effort.

There was still time for the Vikings to try to score a late field goal as Bridgewater moved them within 60 yards, but the kick from Walsh fell short, allowing the home side to secure the win.
