Minnesota Vikings go 2-7 in the NFC North division by beating Washington Redskins 34-27 at Mall of America Field.

Minnesota Vikings have come from behind to beat Washington Redskins 34-27 and record their second win of the season.

Kai Forbath kicked the visitors into the lead at Mall of America Field but the home side were soon in front thanks to Adrian Peterson, who darted through a hole in the defence to run an 18-yard score.

However, the first quarter would end in favour of Mike Shanahan's men, as Robert Griffin III fired to Pierre Garcon and he powered into the endzone from nine yards.

Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder replied with a play of his own early in the second quarter, with Cordarrelle Patterson being the man on the receiving end of his throw.

Jordan Reed re-established the Redskins' advantage thanks to smart work from RGIII, although his part in Logan Paulsen's touchdown just before half time was made easy by the Vikings' defence.

The Redskins led by 10 at half time and Forbath added to their advantage before the hosts came storming back.

John Carlson dodged two tackles to get over the line after being located by Ponder, although the 25-year-old QB injured his arm while making a play for the endzone, meaning that his night came to an early end.

It did not deter the Vikings, as replacement Matt Cassel made the hand off for Peterson to skip over the line late in the third quarter, giving them the lead as they entered the final 15 minutes.

Two field goals from Blair Walsh saw the home side over the line, taking them to 2-7 in the NFC North while the Redskins fall to 3-6 in the NFC East.
