New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick feels that the departure of Darrelle Revis from his side is not big news.
The 29-year-old was under contract with the Patriots for the 2015 season, but the club decided not to use the $20m (£13.3m) option on his deal, which made him available on the free-agent market.
The New York Jets made Revis a five-year $70m (£46.8m) offer to rejoin the club, which he ultimately accepted, despite the best efforts of Belichick's men to retain his services.
However, he has insisted that the loss of the All-Pro is not huge news because of the nature of the league.
"It's NFL free agency. Players leave teams and go to teams in free agency every year," Belichick told reporters. "That's not a big story."
Revis was part of the Patriots team that won the Super Bowl last season.
