First-half touchdowns from John Brown and Andre Ellington have given the Arizona Cardinals a 14-10 lead over the New Orleans Saints in week one of the 2015 NFL season.
The home side had the ball first, and scored the opening touchdown off the first drive when Carson Palmer scrambled from the pocket before launching the ball to Brown in the corner of the endzone.
Brandin Cooks got the Saints into a strong field position as they looked to respond with their first possession of the meeting, but the NFC South side had to settle for a Zach Hocker field goal.
The Cardinals extended their lead early in the second quarter as Ellington made a short run through the middle for a rushing score, diving over the Saints' defensive line to break the plane.
Brees looked deep down the sideline towards Brandon Coleman, leaving the rookie wide receiver stretching with a diving catch, just clipping the corner of the endzone to score the first touchdown of the game for the visiting side, leaving the Saints just four points back at the break.
