The New Orleans Saints have decided against exercising the fifth-year option in running back Mark Ingram's contract, according to reports.
The Saints have until Saturday to pick up the option, which would keep Ingram with the team until at least the end of the 2015 season, although it is understood that they have already chosen not to do so.
Ingram admitted recently that he was unsure whether the team would exercise the clause in his contract, while head coach Sean Payton was also non-committal last week.
The Saints have already picked up the fifth-year option on defensive end Cameron Jordan, who joined Ingram in being a first-round pick in the 2011 Draft.
Ingram rushed for just 386 yards and one touchdown last season as he struggled with a toe injury that forced him to miss five matches.
