New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has revealed that defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is determined to return to the form that helped his side win Super Bowl XLVI two years ago.
The 25-year-old missed five games last season with a shoulder injury and had just 2.5 sacks, while in the 2011 campaign, he notched 16.5 sacks as the Giants won the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Coughlin told reporters: "At this point in time he's on schedule. There was no surgery involved, so hopefully he's going to return back to feeling the way he has in the past and be excited about himself because he feels good and there's no limitations.
"Jason, we had good conversations before he left, and he wants to be the player that he was a couple years ago when he returns, and I'm interested in that."
Pierre-Paul was drafted 15th overall by the Giants in the 2010 Draft.
