New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning admits that his side are in desperate need of a win to boost their morale after an 0-4 start to the season.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has admitted that his side need to find a win in order to boost their morale.

The Giants have made a dreadful start to the season, losing their opening four games including a 38-0 defeat at the hands of the Carolina Panthers in week three.

Manning admits that he is frustrated by the consecutive losses, but believes that a win in Sunday's match against the Philadelphia Eagles would give his side a big boost that could help them kick-start their season.

"I think a win would be big for this locker room and the morale. We work hard each week, and the reason you work hard is for that feeling after a game when you can celebrate and you can feel good about all the work that you put in. When you don't have anything to show for it, it gets frustrating," ESPN quotes Manning as saying.

The 32-year-old saw signs of improvement in last Sunday's 31-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but admits that they still had a long way to go.

"I thought we had chances and I thought we had the right game plan. We said we're going to attack these corners, throw the ball down the field and try to get some big plays," Manning added.

"We only hit one of them. I thought we had opportunities for some other ones and the defenders made some decent plays."

Meanwhile, Giants safety Antrel Rolle is still backing his side to reach the playoffs despite their 0-4 start to the season.
