The New York Giants are reportedly hopeful that they will have agreed a long-term contract extension with quarterback Eli Manning by the start of pre-season.
The 34-year-old is entering the final year of his deal with the NFC East side and has watched as fellow signal-callers such as Ben Roethlisberger have been handed lucrative deals.
Manning revealed that he was prepared to play out the final year of his contract with the Giants, but the club are ready to move quickly to secure the future of the two-time Super Bowl champion, according to the NFL Network.
The quarterback threw for 4,410 yards and 30 touchdowns to 14 interceptions for the Giants last season.
