Lauren Silberman has described her day at the NFL regional combine as "frustrating" after managing just two kicks before limping off with a leg injury.
The kicker sustained a quadriceps injury in training last week, restricting her to two kickoffs which traveled less than 20 yards.
The 28-year-old told reporters: "Obviously, it was a very frustrating day because I wanted to show the world how well I could kick.
"I kept trying to work through it, but between the pain and the risk of further injury, I thought it was best to stop."
Silberman was the first woman to take part in a regional combine, following a change in league rules in 2011 allowing females to compete.
The regional combines allow prospective NFL players to showcase their skills ahead of the draft in April.
