The San Diego Chargers were ahead within a minute as they opened up a 10-3 lead over the Oakland Raiders in the first half of their all-AFC West clash in the NFL this evening.
An early fumble by Raiders quarterback Derek Carr set up the Chargers to open the scoring, allowing Philip Rivers to launch a deep pass to Malcolm Floyd.
Oakland managed to get some points on the board on their next drive, as Sebastian Janikowski split the uprights with a 42-yard field goal.
Chances remained scarce throughout the first half, with Carr struggling to get the Raiders offense going, while the home side's defense worked hard to halt the Chargers.
Nick Novak continued his strong form when called upon for a field goal shortly before the break, chipping the ball over from 23 yards out, but had his first miss of the season with the final play before the break, slicing a 48-yard effort just wide.
