The Oakland Raiders have announced that second-round selection Derek Carr has signed a contract with the club.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport has stated that a source has confirmed the deal is worth $5.4m (£3.2m) to Carr, who was chosen 36th overall earlier this month.
Carr is expected to begin the campaign behind veteran quarterback Matt Schaub, who signed an $8m (£4.7m) deal himself just two months ago.
Carr told the Raiders' official website: "I feel great and I'm excited. I'm excited that this part of it is over and now we can just get to work and focus on winning games and getting better every day."
Schaub endured a torrid final season with the Houston Texans last year, where he broke the NFL record for most successive games with a pick-six before losing his place to the undrafted Case Keenum.
