The Oakland Raiders kept their playoff hopes alive as Seth Roberts scored a late touchdown to guide his team to a comeback victory over the Tennessee Titans this evening.
The Titans took the lead in the first quarter when Marcus Mariota drove his team to the redzone before he fired the ball over the middle of the field for Craig Stevens to collect for a 20-yard touchdown, but the extra-point kick from Ryan Succop was blocked.
As a result, Oakland were able to take the lead on their next possession as Derek Carr completed a strike to Roberts to move his team in range before firing to Michael Crabtree on the edge of the endzone for a score.
Sebastian Janikowski edged the Raiders into a four-point lead at the break through a 24-yard field goal, and the visitors were able to press ahead in the third quarter when Carr drilled the ball to Roberts 10 yards from the goalline and he made his marker miss a tackle to leap into the endzone.
The Titans were not deterred by their deficit and Mariota brought his side back into the game when he lofted the ball down the left side for Harry Douglas, who made a catch for a 13-yard touchdown despite being interfered with in the endzone.
The home side took the lead in the fourth quarter when Mariota displayed composure to fire the ball into the arms of Jalston Fowler in the endzone.
Oakland drove the length of the field to take the lead late in the game after capitalising on a defensive holding penalty on fourth down before Carr lofted the ball to the side of the endzone for Roberts to make a diving catch.
There was still time for Mariota to win the game for the Titans, but his desperate pass in the final minutes was picked off by Nate Allen to clinch the win for the Raiders.
The Raiders improve their record to 5-6 in the AFC West, while the Titans drop to their third loss on the spin to fall to 2-9.
