Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Nick Foles throws three touchdown passes as he guides his team to a 31-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Philadelphia Eagles moved to the top of the NFC East as they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-20 in their NFL clash.

The Eagles with backup quarterback Nick Foles started well and scored on their first drive of the game as he led them downfield and ran the ball into the end zone himself from four yards on a draw play to give his side the lead.

Greg Schiano's side thought that they had responded when Darrelle Revis stripped the ball from LeSean McCoy and ran it back into the end zone, but he was ruled down by contact after the fumble.

However, quarterback Mike Glennon led his team into field goal range, allowing Rian Lindell to get his side on the board with a 38-yard kick.

It got better for the hosts early in the second quarter when Glennon moved his offense into the red zone and then he fooled the Eagles defense with play-action before firing a dart over the middle to Vincent Jackson, who evaded a tackle and ran into the end zone for a 24-yard score.

Foles and the Eagles came back at the Buccaneers and restored their lead as he moved the ball well and drove into the redzone, where he found DeSean Jackson on a crossing route at the back of the endzone for a 12-yard touchdown.

However, Glennon and the Bucs hit back just before the break as he moved his team downfield against the Eagles defense and found Jackson again in the end zone for a one-yard strike to give them the lead.

After the break, Foles and his side came back again to assume the advantage as he threw deep down the left-hand sideline for Riley Cooper on a go route and the receiver beat cornerback Johnthan Banks in the air to come down with the catch.

The Bucs closed the deficit to a point when Lindell kicked his second field goal of the day from 27-yards, but the Eagles went further ahead with Foles's third touchdown pass of the game as he found DeSean Jackson on a deep post route for a 36-yard strike.

A late field goal from Alex Henery secured the victory for the Eagles as they recorded back-to-back wins in the NFL.
