The San Diego Chargers have announced that linebacker Melvin Ingram has been moved to their active 53-man roster.
The 24-year-old sustained a torn ACL during his side's organised team activities and was placed on the physically unable to perform list in July.
However, Ingram returned to practice last month and has made strides in his recovery and now the Chargers feel that he can make his comeback on the field.
Mike McCoy's side have released linebacker Adrian Robinson to make room for Ingram on their roster.
The Chargers are 5-7 in their season going into week 14.
