San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis feels that his side need to put in a "statement game" to hit back at the Seattle Seahawks for inflicting defeat on them earlier in the season.
The Seahawks crushed the 49ers 29-3 in their first matchup in the campaign and have dominated the NFC moving to 11-1 following their victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday, securing a spot in the playoffs in the process.
"Any time you play a team and you lose, the next opportunity you get to play them again, it's definitely a statement game," Davis told the San Jose Mercury News.
"We have to go into this game playing hard, playing fast. We want to make some noise right away. That's going to be the challenge for us."
Jim Harbaugh's side are 8-4 in their season going into the clash with the Seahawks on Sunday.
