The San Francisco 49ers have waived Brandon Jacobs following his suspension from the team.
The running back joined the NFC West champions from the New York Giants in the off-season, but had just five carries throughout the year.
The 30-year-old was suspended by the 49ers after complaining on Twitter about his lack of playing time.
Jacobs is unable to join another team until after the conclusion of the playoffs.
