Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has signed a huge new deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
Kaepernick was about to enter the final year of his rookie contract, which was due to pay him under $1m (£597,464).
However, the two parties have shaken hands on a six-year extension through to 2020, which will see the signal-caller paid $126m (£75.3m), including $60m (£35.8m) guaranteed.
The guaranteed figure - which is paid so long as Kaepernick remains on the roster at certain points - is the most ever given to an NFL player in one contract.
Less than two years ago, Kaepernick was playing as backup behind first-choice starter Alex Smith, who is now with the Kansas City Chiefs.
